Whirlwind Weekend

So we had quite an eventful weekend this past weekend! First we got to go to the circus....Kaylea's first circus experience! She had a great time! I don't think I've ever seen her sit so still since she was born. She's always so busy and constantly going....opposite of Lainey. Lainey is so laid back and chill. I'm not sure if she'll stay that way, but I know her daddy hopes so ;)

Clearly...Kaylea was thrilled to get her picture taken in front of the circus sign.

Kaylea chose this (creepy looking) clown cup for her sno cone.

The elephants were magnificent!

Anyway, after the circus, we got in the car and Lainey went on her first road trip to Dallas! This is a trip we will make many times so we have to get her used to it! While in Dallas, we decided to take the girls to the Fort Worth Zoo! It was such a great zoo! The animals were so beautiful! Kaylea had a great time telling Lainey all about the animals. Nana got the girls an awesome wagon that they rode in! They had a great time!

Kaylea and Lainey enjoying their awesome wagon from Nana!

My sweet Lainey....always smiling!

It was an interesting, eventful weekend! Road trips are different with TWO kids, but making the memories is well worth it!!

Prayer for my Girls

We have always played music while putting our girls to sleep and I've had this great CD from when Kaylea was born that I LOVE playing. It's called "Sing Over Me" and it's a collection of songs sung by great Christian women. Since I've listened to the CD for so long, I've just sung along and have forgotten to really listen to the meaning. There is a song on the CD (it's #12) called "Hold On To Jesus." As I was putting Lainey down tonight, I actually listened to the lyrics as I was singing them to her. So here it is...my prayer for my girls:

Hold on to Jesus

You're a little piece of Heaven
You're a golden ray of light
And I wish I could protect you
From the worries of this life
But if there's one thing I could tell you
It's no matter what you do
Hold to Jesus
He's holding on to you.

The world will try to tell you
That might is more than right
That beauty's on the outside
And being good's a losing fight
But remember what I've told you
Because the world will make you choose
Hold to Jesus
He's holding on to you.

Hold on to Jesus
Cling to His love
Rest deep in His mercy
Whenever things get rough
Don't lose sight of His goodness
And don't ever doubt this truth
That when you hold on to Jesus
He's holding on to you.

Hear me dear Jesus
Rock this little one to sleep
Keep her close when she's scared
And give her grace when she's weak
I know she'll stumble
But I know she'll make it through
If you hold on to her just like you said you'd do
Hold her Jesus
She'll hold on tight to you.

Here we go again...

Ok....so I'm going to try this blogging thing again! Hopefully I can keep it updated.

Here's what's happened in the last 6 months:

Lainey Ruth was born on February 24. She has been a perfect addition to our family. Kaylea is the best big sister in the world and really enjoys having a sister.

Kaylea graduated from preschool and will be attending Second Baptist next year! She has been enjoying her summer! She's been taking swim lessons and went from a guppy to a goldfish and is now a dolphin! She's also about to take her float test...I'll post more about that later. She's also continued taking gymnastics and dance and The Little Gym.

Lainey can roll over and really enjoys hearing herself talk. She also loves talking to her big sister.

Ashton recently turned 30 and I successfully threw him a surprise birthday party! His mom was even able to make it, which made it extra special!

I've just been enjoying being a mommy this summer. Kaylea and Lainey wear me out, but I couldn't ask for anything more. I'm blessed with such a wonderful family and great friends!
